Flattered?

Let's say someone you find unattractive hits on you. Should you be flattered by this?

A) Yes. I am complimented that the person found me desirable.

B) No. I am insulted by the fact that a person I find unattractive presumes themselves to be in "my league".

or C) INSERT YOUR RESPONSE HERE

What's your verdict, team?

Flattered definitely. I liken this to if you wear something you don't particularly like and someone says it looks nice on you. I don't turn around and bite that persons head off.....

i suggest that that is a different premise entirely. the person is complimenting you. not suggesting that they believe they have a shot at you.

Still would be flattered, just because someone hits on you doesn't mean you need to hit back.

Who's hitting on you? I'll cut them.

Generally, if that happens to me (which is rarely), I respond with polite disengagement, followed by a half-day's worth of quiet reflection on the nature of the hierarchy I just found myself involved in. Why is it that we can speak value for all people in one breath, then speak of this system of appearance-based social worth with such confidence. What is that?

we are merely confident in our instant, and likely ignorant, reaction to the proposed situation. not in it's correctness.
