Ten on an Island

(continuation)

The premise is that there are ten people on an island, they are a sovereign nation, and they are trying to best determine how to govern themselves.

Question #5: Some want the group to go out and harvest apples one day. Some think the group should concentrate on fishing. How does the group decide what to do?

Can the group that wants to get apples get apples and the group that wants fish get fish?

Since there are usually optimal times to fish, the whole group should fish during those times (early morning and late afternoon). During the middle of the day, a couple of people could continue fishing if they desire, while the rest of the group pick apples, which are readily available and require little skill to obtain. In late afternoon, everyone returns to fishing to finish the day.
