Is it Illegal?

So, people who rob a bank in a car and don't cover their license plates are idiots, and they need some help.

Here's my invention. A motorized plastic cover that hides your license plates by pushing a button accessible from the dashboard.

Would it be illegal for me to sell these parts? Should it be?

You already know what I think, but no one has responded in a while, so...
If the only way the product can be used is illegal, then it should not be legal to sell that product. If the product can be used in a legal way or an illegal way, the product should be on the market and the law enforced.

shouldn't the legality part come in when it comes to USING the product?

even though this product can only be used in one way, if it's not being used in that way, how can it be illegal?

Possessing marijuana is illegal (in some states) even if you're not using it.

so braden, that goes back to "should it be?"

Here's what I think. If something has both a legal and an illegal use, the object itself should not be illegal. People should have the freedom to choose how to use it and if they choose the illegal use they will (hopefully) suffer the consequences. If the object only has an illegal use, it should only be illegal when used, but immoral to produce.

But then that all boils down to what should be legal and illegal. Should Marijuana be illegal? That's a longer conversation.

Anyway, agency is the best plan, the Bible said so.

I think I successfully opened many cans of worms with that response...

i say sell it. in california there is a limit to how much one's windows can be tinted, yet people still buy the tinting that's over that limit. in fact, the front windows arn't allowed to be tinted at all, yet people still sell them and people still buy them. the transaction themselves are not illegal, just how one uses it. i think its up to the consumer to see how they use it. & if you can get people to buy something that when used properly is illegal, then more power to you, you're a very convincing business man.
