Sanitation for My Sanity

Do you really care when people don't wash their hands after they use the bathroom, or does it only upset you when you have to see the transgression?

Because, intellectually, I know there are loads of germs and disgusting stuff everywhere. But, when someone walks out of the restroom when I'm in there without even feigning an effort, I just don't understand it.

Even if you don't want to make it a habit. Please give people like me the benefit of the doubt. Just a quick rinse. We need to pretend the world is clean.

Oh, and this has happened REPEATEDLY at my workplace. And I'm never able to look at the person the same way again.

This happens at my workplace too!! It is so gross. So, my office is right by the bathrooms and I usually tune everything out, but once I noticed the men's bathroom flushed and then the door open at about the same time. I about puked. So, since then I notice every time this one guy obviously does not wash his hands. I have been meaning to make a sign that says "Employees must wash their hands before returning to work" and posting in the men's bathroom when no one is looking as a social experiment to see if this guy will finally be courteous to those of us that touch the same door nobs as him.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.........and I work with you - I think I just died a little inside :(

For me the real panic situation is standing at the sink and being halfway through lathering your own hands when you see someone exit a stall, forgo the sink and swing the door open (which of course, opens IN to the bathroom). If it is a bathroom with dryers (as opposed to paper towels), you've got about two seconds to rinse and bolt for the exit before the window of opportunity closes and you have to touch the very handle so freshly corrupted.

Even if you had towels, would you want to be the guy who uses one to open the door?
