Neither, although I'm not advocating government completely staying out of the economy either.
Let's assume that the government focuses predominantly on wealth creation. If it leads to a situation where all of the new wealth ends up in the hands of only 5 percent of the people at the expense of the rest, is the government acting in the best interests of the entire population?
Similarly if income redistribution, ends up only helping the bottom 5 percent at the expense of the rest, is the government acting in the best interest of the entire population.
While this might be going off the board, what about one that tries to balance wealth creation, poverty reduction and improving the median wage relative to inflation?
C) Government should govern. it should be smaller than it currently is. it should establish and enforce law, not be a business. I think...
