No the pepsithrowback had the same sugar (and I didnt think it was that much different from reg pepsi)...it was the whole foods soda that had more. I just found it interesting that a natural foods store or whatever they are would take a stand against diet sodas and sodas with preservatives but have no problem serving you soda with twice the sugar. (Man, I havent had Baja Blast since high school, I forgot about it...I'm gonna have to order that again next time at Taco Bell.)

i don't think throwback had any more calories than the regular stuff. also, i thought there was less of a difference with pepsi throwback vs. pepsi--except pepsi throwback had an awful aftertaste.

I tried pepsi throwback last week with the "natural sugar" and I didn't taste too much of a difference. Now I can't find the 20 oz bottles at the same 7-11 I bought it at. Also, Meghan and I were eating at the new gigantic whole foods last week and she went looking for a diet coke for us to split. Apparently they only sell regular soda that is "organic" or natural or whatever... Their own brand. It tasted fine but we noticed it had almost twice the sugar of regular cola. Maybe thats a downside to not using all those preservatives.

baja blast is the absolute worst dew flavor ever. i didn't want to relive that horrible letdown again even by mentioning it.

i also left out the exclusive Mt. Dew Slurpee flavors (the combination of my two greatest culinary loves) to avoid being creepy...

i am very excited to try throwback as the media is successfully making me terrified of high-fructose corn syrup.

Great post. I'm the same way, always NEEDING to try any new candy or pop. A few comments:

- While good old plain MD is by far my favorite, I prefer Code Red to Live Wire.

- I thought Pitch Black was disgusting.

- What about Baja Blast, the flavor only available at Taco Bell? I dig that too.

- Diet Mountain Dew is one of the WORST sodas I've ever had.

- What do you think of MD Throwback, made with natural sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup? It is similar to what we are used to, but packs a bit of a different punch.
